Numb: The True Story chapter 7We entered a small office just a short ways down the hall. I noticed how Karmen's eyes swept across the room, like she was looking for something, before she closed the door behind her. She didn't lock it, but I saw a hesitation that told me she'd thought about it for a moment. Karmen remained standing, while Cadence and I sat at the desk. I waited, unsure what to say or do now, and Cadence seemed very upset about the "him" Karmen had said they hadn't found.
There was a very long silence before Karmen spoke.
"Would you like to see what your mother looks like?" she asked.
Cadence instantly perked up a bit, like she hadn't been expecting this. I only nodded, remembering what Cadence had told me about our mother's death.
Karmen gave me a tense smile before pulling a wallet from her back pocket. She opened it, flipped through a bit, then pulled out a small photograph and presented it to me.
"You've got her smile," she managed. "Amiliea's smile."
I stared at the photo. Instantly, I saw a con
Ai o Shinjiru: Prologue part 1Sanjou Productions was putting on a concert to showcase all of its idols. Along with Utau Hoshina, Kitsuko Briefs, Takuto Kira, a few bands and some others, my sister and I were to perform. However, a bit before our stage time...
"I don't feel so...good..." Peggie mumbled, her short black hair falling over her eyes. She leaned backwards, against her twin sister, Margret, who let out a groan.
"I feel dizzy..." the black magic user agreed. Their cousin, Kitsuko, glanced over at them with worry.
"Meggie? Peggie? Are you two alright??" she asked them.
"I-I don't know..." Meggie answered weakly. "Bad moleculia..." Peggie's two Shugo Charas, Mei and Otaru, began fanning the girls with some paper as Meggie's voice dropped too low for anyone to understand. She continued mumbling in the black magic language, trying both to make sense of what was happening, and to stop it.
"Come on, you two need to sit down," Kitsuko urged, taking them to a couple of chairs and helping them sit down. "I'l
Pokeumans Scenario memeSo, you got tagged, didn’t you? Aww, I would feel pity for you, but right now, we got another time-wasting meme to finish. Don’t worry, it’s fun, I promise!

Here’s how it works:

Pokemon: Atlas PrologueKate moved as quietly as she could, trying not to wake her companions. Leaving without saying why was hard enough...but there was no reason for her to drag them into this...not even Ann. Kate had suspicions about her older sister's sudden recovery and want to travel, and had been slowly distancing herself for when this day came.
She set her letter on Ann's bag, knowing her sister would find it when morning came. Then, she set one of her Poké Balls on Gary's bag. She wouldn't need it where she was going. For Moon (the strange girl she had come to look up to) she left the two contest ribbons she'd won.
There. That would do. Kate crept for the door, opened it with practiced silence, and slipped out. She ran out of the Pokémon Center as quickly and quietly as she could, and didn't stop until she had reached the edge of town.
Pausing to catch her breath, she heaved a sigh of relief. New Domino, here I come, she thought with an eager smile. I'm strong enough now...it'
Numb: The True Story chapter 6Cadence and I, being bored of the outside, went back to the front of the house and stepped inside.
I stopped as I finally figured out what was off.
I couldn't remember the last time I'd seen the kitchen table clean.
From the living room, everyone looked up. I saw Momma, Daddy, Nikki, Dad, Mr. Mark, and Sami.
Sami got up from her seat, ran over to me, and hugged me. For once, I didn't push her away. I hugged her back, tightly squeezing her. Who knew?
Maybe this would be the last time I saw her.
"Mel, you're leaving?!" she screamed. I hugged her a little tighter.
"Sam, I found my real family....but I still love you, you're still my little sister."
Sami started crying, clinging to me like she would never let go. Usually I'd get annoyed, since she was ten and acting like a toddler, but this time I really couldn't blame her. I hugged her even tighter. "I'll miss you too, Sam," I whispered, kissing the top of her head. "I'll call, and write, and email, and call...I promise, Sa
A Bloody, Stupid Miracle The day we’d cured the human condition was the day I put a bullet through my head and didn’t die. It was also the day I realized how scared I actually was of death, and after hours of muscle ache from holding that gauze against my open skull, after the wound closed and everything went back to normal, I had myself a good old-fashioned brainstorm. How ironic.
But when summer came, everything had fallen to shit. The air scorched my skin and parched my tongue every time I took a breath. The sun glared down on a rapidly-collapsing world, full of the undying bastard children of cruelty and misfortune. What was one to do when their cells regenerated faster than they decomposed?
My feet hit the pavement, now littered with jagged bits of glass to snap at my toes, thoroughly baked by the blazing ball of bitter disdain high overhead. Today was worse than yesterday. Though I’d often wondered the purpose of it anymore, I
